For as long as anyone could remember, Lavenderstream was untrusted. It almost seemed natural, for the vole. When disaster, in the form of a gluttonous hare, struck, Lavenderstream felt the need to find himself. As Lavenderstream traveled along Mossflower's meandering paths, he met Sarah, an outcast mole who had an intense love for food. Deathface the fox, the maddeningly insane, who ruled over a grand pinapple he had dragged from southsward, decided to put an end to the two creatures' quest to make a fun drink of his empire. Before Lavenderstream or Sarah could demolish Deathface's camp, two of Deathface's lakeys, Threeface and Fireeye killed Deathface and took the horde away. Lavenderstream returned to Redwall among a huge feast, the likes of which Redwallers had never seen, not untrusted any more, loved and respected by all beasts.
