After working on VI and RWL exclusively for four years, I wanted to make something new and different. I got the idea for a small strategy game, based on the concept of a one-page interface as in To Boldly Go.

Perhaps the biggest thing that PoMS taught me was that, in making games, there is nothing more important than balancing it correctly. Perhaps the second biggest thing it taught me is that no hosting company likes it when you decide to recalculate the wind vectors at hundreds of points on a map every day at midnight.
